Overview

Origami Studio ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Side Reminder macOS application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

We built Side Reminder with privacy as a core principle. Your reminders, voice data, and personal content stay on your device.

Information We Collect

Reminder Data

Side Reminder reads and writes reminders through Apple's EventKit API. Your reminder content is managed entirely by Apple's Reminders system and is stored locally on your device or synced through your personal iCloud account. We do not transmit or store your reminder data on our servers.

Voice Data

Side Reminder includes an optional voice input feature powered by SenseVoice, an on-device speech recognition model. All voice processing occurs entirely on your Mac. Audio recordings are processed in real-time and are never transmitted to any server. We do not collect, store, or have access to your voice recordings or transcriptions.

Automatically Collected Data

• Analytics Data: We collect anonymized usage analytics via Amplitude to understand how the App is used. This includes feature usage patterns and session data, but does not include your reminder content or personal information.
• Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports, including device type and OS version, to diagnose and fix technical issues.
• Purchase Information: Subscription and purchase data is managed by RevenueCat. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment details.

iCloud Sync

Your reminders are synced through Apple's native iCloud service as part of the Apple Reminders system. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to us.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and maintain App functionality
• Process subscriptions and purchases
• Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve the App
• Diagnose and fix technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers who assist in operating the App:

• Amplitude — Analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics — Crash reporting
• RevenueCat — Subscription management

Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App
• iCloud Data: Managed per Apple's data retention policies
• Analytics Data: Retained for up to 24 months
• Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information using macOS security frameworks and industry-standard encryption. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Rights

• Access your local data at any time within the App
• Delete your data by removing reminders or uninstalling the App
• Manage iCloud sync through your device's system settings
• Opt out of analytics via your device's privacy settings

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

International Users

The App is operated from South Korea. If you are accessing the App from outside South Korea, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the App with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
